High-Power target simulation

I going to set up a spot at home for dry fire practice. I'm wondering if anybody has already done the math for this...

What size "black dot" do I need at 25 feet, to look like the black of an SR target at 200 yards?

If I got the SR target right, the 9-ring is the outer black diameter and is 13 inches in DIA. Scale that from 200 yds back to 8.3 yds (25 ft) and 13 inches becomes 0.542 inches. Hope that helps.

Some of these may help you. The spreadsheet will allow you to compute reduced target sizes.

My SCATT electronic trainer has a target generator program that can scale targets. I can email you a 8.5x11 printable PDF of the 200 yd SR scaled to 7.62 meters (25 ft). Just PM me your email address.

13 inches at 200 yards = 6.5 MOA aiming black.

6.5 MOA times 1/4 inches (one MOA at 25 yards) = 1.625 inches, or 1 and 5/8ths of an inch. 0.542 inches should be about the diameter of the 10 ring inside the aiming black.
