New Michigan Carry Anywhere Law
Does anyone have more detials on this new law yet? I suppose you need to call the local Sheriff and take a class?

Sb 59 is what u need to look up. Mgo ( michigan gun owners) have a long disusion on it. Presently the gov. Has still not signed and if it doesn't get signed by year end closer could be a lame duck veto. So write the govener and stress how important this law is.

Sb 57 and sb 58 go along with it. miopencarry.org has a lot of info too. Even if passed general talk is May 2013 before implimented.

Looks like it was vetoed. Reason given for the veto is: "In his veto letter, sent this afternoon to the Michigan Legislature, Synder said his decision to strike down the bill surrounded its failure to allow those public entities to opt out of the concealed carry provisions. "Unfortunately, the bill did not allow schools, public day care centers, or public hospitals to prohibit persons from carrying concealed weapons on their premises," said Snyder in his veto letter. "For that reason, I am vetoing Senate Bill 59." |
