Carry gun to accompany Glock 17. G26?

Ok,

I'd like to get a concealed carry pistol in 9mm because that's what my Glock at home eats. I had a Kahr for a while but never really warmed up to the trigger (although it was mighty slim!).

I'm leaning toward the Glock 26 this time, but realize it's a little bulky. On the other hand, it can take the 17's mags at the range (which is somewhat nifty).

Anyway, I realize this has been beat into the ground, but considering my 17 at home, should I go with the 26? Are there any out there that find it's too bulky to carry concealed? And if so, what would you recommend in its stead?

Thanks!

I have owned the G26 several times and always end up selling it. Same with the G17. I really just like the size of the G19. Big enough to shoot like a full size gun, small enough to carry comfortably.

If you're looking for something smaller(slimmer) though, I'd strongly suggest checking out the M&P Shield. The XDS and Walther PPS are also good options.

The only way to know, is get a 26 and see what you think.

Dont be surprised if you find you like it though, and they start to multiply.

I normally carry both, the 17 and 26. The 17, IWB. The 26, usually in an ankle holster. I dont find either hard to conceal and carry.

I have a couple of 19's, but really dont see their place in the world. They are really not much smaller than a 17, and big enough they cant go where the 26 can. For me, their grip is cramped, and I actually find the 26 more comfortable to shoot, and easier to shoot well with. You just have to get used to wrapping your pinkie under the mag, which is really no big deal. Skip the mag extensions, as they just make the gun unnecessarily bigger, and tend to pinch, both while shooting and reloading.

I have all four Glock 9mm models, and the 26 is a great little pistol, but lately my carry gun is most often my Bersa BP9CC, as it is slimmer, has a trigger very much like the Glock and has proven reliable and accurate for me... in fact my wife carries the same gun, except hers has a hard-chromed slide.

I have the 17 and 26. If you can conceal a 19, you can conceal a 17. A 26 conceals really easy.

I have been carrying a G26 for several years now. It hit the right spot for me in balancing concealment and capacity. I live on the east coast of Florida, and I have no problem concealing it.

Being single stack, either a Springfield XDs or S&W Shield 9mm is going to be a bit more concealable than the G26. The trade off is magazine capacity. Still, with one in the chamber, 8 rounds is pretty good, or 9 rounds with extended mag.

The G26 isn't a pocket pistol. That said, if you have a G17, I would want anG26 just to be ale to swap magazines. I think you will like it. I had one until I sized down to a better pocket pistol.

I've been down this decision path and:

1. I had a Kahr PM9 and it didn't run. Ditched it.
2. I bought a 26 and I have abandoned IWB for OWB with a big old flopping light weight shirt. Works fine for me.

Thus, I have a 17, 19 and 26 and the latter two are carry guns. The 26 more often though.

I use an IWB holster, but wear it between my belt and jeans, that way I don't have to buy bigger pants, and when I remove the holster, my pants don't fall down. I'm most often wearing a "tall" size Carhartt T-shirt which works fine as a cover garment.

I only tuck in a shirt for weddings or funerals... and I have a pocket holster and Kahr CW380 that work really well for those infrequent occasions.
