S&W M&P 15-22

Hey Gang! Hope I Posted In The Right Spot But Sorry If Not..

Sooooo, I just got My first Rifle after 25 years of Shooting And Collecting Handguns and I am Quite Excited! Lol.
Anyways, here is My issue, well question..
I bought a Smith And Wesson M&P 15 A-1, but the REAL crappy thing is its a 22LR but I couldnt pass it up as I only paid $375 Bucks for it with alot of adds to Her so it was well worth it, but anyways I hate the fact its a 22 and was wondering if is a way to convert it or something to a reg, real caliber rifle, like chage the barrel or whatever. I dont know a whole lot at all about rifles so I dont know what can be done if anything..
