Mauser w/o trigger?
Does anyone have any information regarding a K98 that does not have the normal trigger?
The 'trigger' is a button located on top of the stock, behind the bolt, that you press with your thumb. The rifle was picked up by a GI from a German that no longer needed it. The gun was brought back to the states where it was sporterized (barrel shortened, military sights and stock replaced. |

The only thumb trigger rifle produced in any number was the Winchester 99, a .22 of John Browning design. But it sticks in my head that somewhere, sometime, I saw a picture of a centerfire rifle with a thumb trigger. Pity he sporterized it.

not really sure, but could it be a variation of a winter trigger? Something similar to the wither trigger that could be attached to the M1 Garand trigger?
