Need ideas on a fix.

I bought a Star Model BS for 200 bucks at a gun show. I brought it home and fired it and the slide locks back after each shot. After doing some research i found that the slide stop is the wrong one and does not have the plunger on it to function correctly. The slide stop is not set up for a plunger and i cant find a gun smith to make one nor can i find a replacement part. Has any one ever had to deal with this. The gun does shoot great as long as i hold the slide stop. any help would be apreciated, pics would be great if you have any. thanks.
