Got Arisaka Type 99 in trade. Smith gave it a thumbs up, but it needs lots of work

Gunsmith tore it down and put it back together and said it's good to go. Lit of work that I know it needs:

1.) Front sight blade and hood
2.) Read sight leaf, adjustment and pins
3.) Stock refinished or maybe just replaced
4.) Bluing stripped and reapplied
5.) ammo acquired.

Where the heck do I find 7.7x58? Maybe I should just sporterize it and forgo the sights all together? I do have a scope and rings I can throw on it, I'd just need the mount for it. Where would I get a sporterized stock? What's the process to remove and reapply cold bluing?

Do you reload? If not, this may be a good incentive to start.

I don't reload. I have small children and not enough space currently. Reloading isn't currently possible.

Additionally, I'm unable to find any 7.7x58 at Cabela's either online or in the store.

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up trading it to a local gun shop for $80 in credit. I decided in the end that I have enough milsurp calibers for now and I didn't need another project. I ended up picking up 300 rounds of Remington UMC 125gr JSP .357Mag for my Desert Eagle instead.

...now to find something to eat what won't cycle in the Desert Eagle...
