Brass -

Is there a standard going rate for brass?

Talking about pistol - like 9MM, 357 mag, 45 acp

And for Rifle - 30-06 or 270 winchester

Brass is used, not cleaned, fired once ...

I ran across someone who wants to sell it. It is not like he has a ton of it but enough for me to pickup and eventually reload it.

I don't want to cheat the guy - yet at the same time it is easier for him to sell it to me than go out to one of the many web sites to sell it.

Thanks

Last I checked it was $100/2000 9mm. I recently sold 1k 223's for $100. These are cleaned and (in my case) resized/decapped.

In pistol, once fired is the key to me. I bought 500 357 mag for $35 locally, last Fall. To me, 357 mag is a premium because it is less popular and the cases don't fall on the ground.

For 9mm, I would say ~$40 /1000
40, 45: $50 /1000
38, 357: $70/1000
45 LC, 44mag: $100 /1000
223: $100/1000 FL sizing should be a premium(like $130/1000) due to high scrap rates with various AR chambers.

These are just my estimates of what is reasonable. Cleaned, sized, primer pocket decrimp/cleaned should be extra

Search gunbroker under advanced, completed auctions. Search craigslist in the nearest large city. I think 9mm can be purchased cheaper than 50 and even 40 per 1000
