Choke choices

What are your choices for trap targets at 16 yds....27 yds...and both shots at doubles?

My O/U trap combo came with 2 *Fulls, **ImpMod and a ***Mod screw-ins. For singles I use the Mod and the Full at 27-yds. For doubles, it's usually the Mod/ImpMod.

My trap model auto-loader came with Full Trap, Extra Full and Super Full screw-ins. I've never used the Extra nor the Super.

For Trap Doubles - and for Trap Singles from the 16 - 20 yard line I use a Modified Choke.

From 21 - 24 yard line I go to an Improved Modified.
From 25 - 27 yard line, I go to a Full choke.

I don't change my shells - for Trap singles, Doubles or even Continental Trap ...( not even at the 27 yard line...where I shoot for fun, not because I've earned the handicap distance ...) but I stay with 1 oz of 8's at 1225 fps ....( and I use the same shell for sporting clays in 12 ga.)

I agree with your 16 (mod.)and 27 (full) yard chokes. 8's from the 16 and 7 1/2's from the back fence. But most good double shooters use imp.cyl. with 8's or 8 1/2's or even 9's for the first shot and mod. with 8's for the second.
