Sling for AR?
Looking for suggestions and info (links, feedback, photos, etc...) on slings for an AR. I'll be using it as a patrol rifle and need something that works well for transitions from pistol to rifle and back to pistol. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Troy Industries makes them. www.troyind.com. Also look at www.militarymorons.com for a rundown of various manufacturers and what slings work well.

http://www.spectergear.com/
Spectergear (previously called CQB) has quite a variety. I use these (as well as Wilderness Products stuff). http://thewilderness.com/catalog/default.php/cPath/1

I've got one by Eagle Industries (the TAS-1):
http://www.eagleindustries.com/MainProd.asp?scv=0 and one by The Wilderness (the Giles): http://thewilderness.com/catalog/def...dcf76eb6ab59e1 I like them both. They both seem very high quality, but the Eagle has more features for less money, so I like it better (it has the quick release doohickey, and was $17 less). |

Ended up buying a Blackhawk "Swift Sling" with the rifle this evening before having a chance to come back here and check this thread again. The Blackhawk seems to be perfect for what I was looking to do with it. Looks very similar to the one from Spectergear that L-2 posted. It lets the rifle hang vertical in front of me and after a little adjustment it puts the buttstock exactly where it needs to be as I swing the rifle up for a cheek weld. I think I'll be happy with this sling.
Anyway, thanks again for the input.
