BB machine gun : anyone one seen it ???

Have seen ads for Pyramyd Air in Texas selling a BB machine gun. Also have seen one that resembles a minigun. Anyone have another link or address for one of these companies ??

Back in the 80s

A company used to advertise a machine BB pistol. Something like 3000 BBs per second. I think it ran off CO2. The ads were kinda cheesy. Some in fatigues and a steel pot chomping on a cigar butt.

Would be neat to play with for awhile though.

They used Freon - lots more punch than a little CO2 cartridge, and the paintball thing hadn't happened yet, so that was the best thing available.

Saw a review in one of the gun rags - it was a terrible thing! Harmful to the ozone layer and they actually KILLED several dragonflys!!!

Looked like a lot of fun!

That's right!

When I posted I couldn't remember what they used and thought CO2 wasn't right.

Wonder what type of ATF form would be required for that today?

Ah the 80s, the music sucked but the guns were awesome!

AHHHHHHHH the M 19-A!
I had one back in the day freon was 99 cents a can at Pep Boys......was fun to shoot 'till the action froze up......short bursts were the rule!
Found one at a yard sale a few months back...hooked it up to the compressor with a regulator......NOW IT'S MORE FUN!
FWIW, it shoots out a solid stream of copper BB's to a maximum range of about 100 yards @ 90 psi.....................
and no it's not for sale.......I might have grandkids someday!

what does 90 psi get

for velocity? I think they'd be a hoot. Wonder if you can retro fit it for 134?

I have one of those M 19-A sitting in my dad's basement. As I recall, it was $29.00. I suppose it still works. How to you attach a compressor to it ? I remember at the time that they offered an adapter for an air compressor, but I never ordered it.
The freezing up thing made it impractical. And, accuracy was non existent. As the thing got cold you could see a funnel of BBs coming out the end. If you kept firing, BBs would fall at your feet.

Still have mine sitting in the closet. It was fun until I got my first real machinegun. Like said above, wasn't very accurate and you had to thaw it out frequently, which wasn't a real problem. Just throw it in the swimming pool for a few minutes. Still, it was a blast to play with and it was real popular at parties.

If I still had all of the freon I used it that thing, I could retire. Used to buy it by the case a Sears. Now it's worth more than gold.

At this year's Shot Show, Armalite also had brochures for what they called the "M-15P"; this is a selective-fire M16-type air rifle that runs off of compressed air the same way that a paintball gun does. I don't know how much they'll be selling for, but they'd be a blast to shoot.

bb gun machine fire

I had one. Works off either freon (now $22/can) or CO2 with special hook-up. Lousy feed, very unreliable. Fun for about 15 shots, then jams, and when freon gets low (quickly), less feed, accuracy, etc. Plus: they are cheap. Probably can still find on web or Shotgun News.

Airsoft is a great sport/game. I play as often as I can. I own 2 M93r replicas and an MP5SD5 replica. Guns are either spring (cock each shot) gas, or electric. FPS depends on field regulations, but usually range from 150-450fps depending on upgrades to springs and whatnot.

you can find more info at www.airsoftretreat.com That's a really good site for info and links to dealers.

As far as machine gun type things, TOP is the manufacturer making most of them. They are horrid stock, and take alot of money to make worth using in a game. But basicly, if you can think of a gun, there's an airsoft version out there. www.redwolfairsoft.com is a great online shop.

The chaingun by PPP is amazing and intense. Only the most hardcore or wealthy obtain that thing. The original I think was stolen from a show a few years ago.

Haha... No kidding. But I thought it was the cat's meow back then. I remember putting several BBs in it after pumping it up and shooting at birds flying by. A poor boy's air shotgun...

I also remember having an old BB gun that looked like an M1 Carbine. It eventually stopped working and I took it apart. I mounted the barrel with the breech end mounted in a large block of wood or something. I put gunpowder down the barrel from some firecrackers, packed it down and poured some BBs down. There was already a small hole in the side of the breech and I stuck a fuse from one of the firecrackers in it. I propped up a large piece of plywood about 10 feet in front of it, lit the fuse and ran... A mini BB cannon... Haha... It's funny I never killed myself back then.

when I was a kid in the mid 70s...

When I was a kid in the mid 70s, one of the big casinos in town had a boardwalk arcade. One of the big attractions was a machine gun bb gun. For a buck you got 50 bbs and had to shoot a red star completely out of a sheet of paper. I think you won a teddy bear or a gold fish...

Try : http://www.compasseco.com/shop/produ...=Air%20Pistols

This is a IZH-DROID Baikal auto air rifle/pistol presently imported by EAA - I have been unable to obtain any recently, but I believe Compasseco says they will have them back in stock by June 30, '05. 3 or 6 shot selective fire, with a rate of fire of 300, 450, or 600 shots/minute. More info on Compasseco's site above.

Hey if any of you are interested, i used to participate in the sport of airsoft, great game, and the guns are soo real, and a lot more reliable then are played off, my two guns are the mp5a5 all metal, full auto, shoots 6mm bbs at 300 fps, and a full metal thompson m1a1 shooting 350 fps with 6mm bbs, they both run off batteries if you can believe that, charge for a bout 30 min and you can shoot a good 10000 rounds, great fun, lemme know if any of you are interested being as i just turned 18 im getting into shotguns, lemme know if interested in either gun, or both can show you pictures and would be willing to sell both for a descent price.

Tim
