Savage/Stevens 107B Firing pin screw
I recently bought a Savage/Stevens 107B at an auction for $10, and I knew it was missing a firing pin screw but for $10 couldn't pass it up thinking it would be a cheap easy fix. The problem is i can't find one on the standard places because they have been OOS for a little over a month.
http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...20E&catid=5461 http://www.brownells.com/1/1/4140-fi...ew-savage.html Does anyone know where i might be able to order one that is in stock, or if anyone has one to sell? I found a couple that aren't specifically for the 107B but i think would work, but I don't want to buy one if it isn't going to fit plus it is auction site which i would like to avoid if possible. If you can confirm one of these would work it would be great. http://www.auctionarms.com/search/di...emnum=10271187 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=227097512 Thanks for any help you can offer in advance. |

Did you call Savage customer service and ask if they have one? If not, they ought to be able to look it up and tell you the specs or send you a drawing of it. If you have a friend with a lathe with a lead screw for threading, they should be able to make one for you from the drawing. May cost you a couple or three beers that way, but with the current cost of .22 ammunition it may be that you've already saved that much by the extra time the gun's not been working.
Savage Customer Service (cut and pasted from their site): (413) 568-7001 for parts and service (please have your serial number and credit card available)

A gunsmith with an assortment of screws should be able to fit one up for you.
