Side by Side Comparison by Four Shooters of Varying Skill
This is one of the best comparison videos of widely used rifle platforms--AR, AK, M1A, PTR (G3 clone). I wish the FAL had been included for a full house. Shoot 2, reload, shoot 2. The difference in times is enlightening, and can be a factor in rifle choice. Enjoy!

Verry interesting.
Thanks. If an M1 was included, it could have really been entertaining. Guess Mr. Stoner knew what he was doing, after all.

Would have liked to see some sort of accounting in the "scores" for missed shots.
Also, while the shooters were definitely of varying skill, they were all more familiar with some of the weapon systems than with others. It looked like all of them were pretty used to working the AK and especially the AR while there was clearly some confusion on the part of most of them when trying to get the HK clone (and to a lesser extent, the M1A) to perform. Rather than trying to get shooters of differing skill levels, it would be interesting to get a group of test subjects who had no experience at all with any of the weapon systems being tested. That would let you know how intuitive a system was absent any experience advantage. Or, failing that, to compare scores from experts in each of the weapon systems against each other. That would provide information on how well each system performs in the hands of someone who is highly proficient with it.

That was an enjoyable video.
As much as I love the M1A/M14, having used it in HP since '77, I'm certain, none of those Semi Rifles would compete with the AR with new or old shooters. You can easily see that watching new and experienced shooters at 3-gun matches. Still wont stop me from digging out all my semi rifles and trying it out on my own.

I think they were all barely able, and even the guys running the AR's could barely do a mag change. Since they were shooting steel, don't know how big or how far out, scoring would only be misses. I also don't like how the one guy turns up range with the gun before clearing it. There is a reason why the AR platform is the rifle for 3 gun compeition
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdtwHzVLSvM Fast mag change, yea, these are some of our local USPSA/3 gun hosers who make these videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEEEy1dMceI

Neat video, though no real shockers there. I tried to do an optics comparison like that once - it is amazing the amount of time and logistics you need to set something like that up. Glad they did it though!
