Weatherby Load help??
Loading 257 Weatherby mag. The combo i want to use is. Barnes 100Gr TSX, Rl-22 and CCI 250 primers. I have loaded in the past 66.7grs for this combo. I dont have a manual for this bullet/powder. So my question is, Would any of you fine folks have a Min/Max for said bullet, powder? I was thinking that something like 69grs was max. But after doing several hrs of research online i find people loading from 72-75.5. Sorry for the lack of grammar or punctuation haha.

Ttt, any help would be great. I've got 60 cases cleaned, sized, and primed. All ready for a charge.

Barnes has load data on their site. The primers do matter, use the 215M as they all recommend. I like IMR4831, the amount of powder is specific to your
and chamber size. Start low and work up. My experience with the Weatherby 300 is don't go over the max loads as listed. The Barnes book #4 lists: Reloader 22 and the 100 grain TSX, 66 grains min=3375fps. to 71.0 max.=3595fps http://www.barnesbullets.com/wp-cont...MagnumWeb2.pdf

Thanks game hog. I went over there site first. But didn't find the listing for the 100gr tsx and to-22. Does your Barnes #4 list the used primer?

Check alliants (Reloader) site or call Sierra bulletsmiths.
They will give recommendations on anybodies powder/primer/bullets not just their own.. OR get a copy of LOADBOOKS for your calibers. They have all data by all bullet/powder makers in one about $8 book..for each caliber. |
