I will be introducing 2 kids, ages 13 and 11, to trap shooting. Any suggestions regarding shotgun choice? O/U are too expensive.

Remington 1100 in 20 gauge.
I started my son shooting skeet with an 1100 at age 11, Worked out quite well for him. BTW he is now 24 and still loves the 1100. ------------------ "Lead, follow or get the HELL out of the way." |

Cost effective approach might include the 870 Youth Express 20 ga. A short stock helps with smaller shooters, this one has a 12 1/2" length of pull. Got one for my kids.
Use light loads and good form starting out. Lessons can help, even if you're a good shot, you might not be able to communicate it well. |
