I will be introducing 2 kids, ages 13 and 11, to trap shooting. Any suggestions regarding shotgun choice? O/U are too expensive.

Remington 1100 in 20 gauge.
I started my son shooting skeet with an 1100 at age 11, Worked out quite well for him.
BTW he is now 24 and still loves the 1100.

Cost effective approach might include the 870 Youth Express 20 ga. A short stock helps with smaller shooters, this one has a 12 1/2" length of pull. Got one for my kids.

Use light loads and good form starting out. Lessons can help,even if you're a good shot, you might not be able to communicate it well.
