Passive Target Activation

Been trying to find info about making a motion activated target. (motion sensor, garage door eye) Anyone have any info on connecting a motion sensor or similar to a solenoid that can pull a pin to activate a moving target. I guess I looking to find out what parts to buy, what kind of solenoid. I don't have much electrical experience but I can learn quick.
Thanks.

The only reliable electrically activated targets in my "combat radius" are at Central Alabama Gun Club, Montgomery, AL.
Dave Rawlinson there likes to build mechanical and electrical range gear.
You might wire him.
