what is the highest capacity single stack out?

Other than a 10 rd 22 cal pistol, is there something in a single stack that holds more than 8 rds in a mag, that fits the gun?
I know you can buy a 20 rd 1911 mag, that sticks out half a foot.
But I was more interested in something that fit flush, or perhapes as bad as the glock extensions that stick out a pinky, but no more than that.
Doesn't have to be a 45 just not 22.

You can get a 10 shot .45 that'll have an extension on it.

Didn't realize there were so few single stacks out there.

I recently had to take a 1911 out as my carry gun, and found it way easier to conceal. I am used to a double stack 40.
Just seeing what my other options were.

Yep. I would go with the spare mag. Another advantage of a single stack gun being more comfortable to carry is spare mags are more comfortable to carry as well. I carry two spare mags with my 1911, an 8 round and a 10 round, with the plastic base plates they are quite comfortable to carry.

Well yeah spare mag.
Just isn't as comforting as having 36 rds on me for the 40 cal, 48 for the 9mm.
Two spare 8 rd mags gives me 24 rds total.

Also means more gear investment if I start carrying it more often.

If you consider 9mm single stacks, the standard seems to be an 8 round magazine for 9 total rounds in the loaded gun. I have a Sig P239 and a S&W model 39, both of which have 8 round single stack magazines. The somewhat smaller Kahr K9 has a 7 round flush fitting magazine that is single stack.

In .45, the Officer's frame guns like the Colt Defender or Kimber Ultra will take a Wilson 7 round magazine that protrudes slightly below the grip. The standard government 1911 will take an 8 round .45 magazine, of course.

That was mainly what I was wondering. No reason to step down from 45 if all I gain is 1 rd.
38 super is just too expensive to shoot.

It just becomes more gear if I switch carry guns now.
I never bothered to consider 1911's before, and only got this one by chance.
Going to cost me even more now. lol.

There's no magic way to change the dimensions of the rounds or the frame, so all single stack guns are going to have essentially the same capacity for a given frame length. "Full-sized" frames will hold eight rounds of .45 (8+1 in the chamber), nine of .40/10mm, or ten of 9mm. Shorten the frame, and you get fewer rounds, extend the mag tube, and you get more.

Chip McCormick makes a 10-rnd mag for 1911-45 acp. I have one and it is about 1/2 inch longer than the 8-rnd magazine from the same company. The extra length is much thinner than the grips on a 1911 so I don't think it makes it much harder to conceal.

I have a mystery single stack mag. It's holds 380's or maybe a MAKAROV. I posted pics, emailed everyone I can thing of. NRA history museum, european museums, and the like. You tell me. I only have 15 380's rounds on hand and it could probably hold 5 more.

The Kel=Tec P32 has an optional 10 round magazine so that is 10+1.

It doesn't exactly fit flush but does provide a grip extension and is single stack.
