Maverick 88 fiber optic options
So Im thinking of adding a fiber optic to one of my maverick 88's
I have the security 20 inch models.. plain barrel, bead sight. So I was looking at truglo and they have the universal clip on models.. these clip over the barrel and butt up against the existing bead. They also have threaded post optics but they appear to all be for ribbed barrels. So here's my questions: 1. Anyone have exp with the universal clip on fiber optics? any good? 1b. Comes in green and red, thoughts? I tend to lean towards green. 2. I've never taken off the bead sight but it appears threaded.. if true has anyone been able to use a threaded post fiber optic on a plain barrel? |

It butts up against the bead, there is a groove in the fiber optic sight that accepts the bead and that's what keeps the F.O centered.
the thing just clips on to the barrel. |

Gotcha - for some reason I was thinking along the lines of a red dot....DUH!
Thinking MAN that would be muzzle heavy! I had a gun with one once - (came with it). I prefer to focus on the intended target so I took it off as it was distracting

I'll be getting one for my HD gun. I'll let you know what I think, though I've read reviews that are generally positive (doesn't come loose, fiber is easy to see, blahdy blah).
