Reloading 300 ultra mag.
I am new to reloading and have only reloaded .223 so far. I am going to start reloading my 300 Ultra mag and have not been able to find large rifle magnum primers anywhere.
I am planning to reload 125 gr nosler ballistic tip right now because I already had them. My question is: Can I reload this case with large rifle primers (of which I have 1k) I am only shooting recreationally at this point. It will not be for hunting. I have ramshot magnum powder which i have read is a slower burning powder and the Lrg. Rifle primers probably will not work with this powder. If I am able to do this what would be a good powder to use? Or am I just S.O.L. and need to wait till I can find magnum primers? |

Gotta have a faster powder on the order of RL15, 17, 4895, or 4064. If you don't have a manual, buy Nosler #6 or try the powder manufacturers site.

Hmm, 125 gr out of the 300 RUM? Trying to break the 4000 ft/s mark? Actually, Nosler has load data for it http://nosler.com/index.php?p=15&b=30cal&s=299 ,3800 ft/s. But the bullets are probably explode on impact.

I use R 25 and 200 A.B. Have never tried anything less than 180 gr.
