Has anyone shot one of these matches yet? Can you tell me the courses of fire, how many and the round count? Do they use the same classes as regular GSSF (amateur, Competition, etc.)?

I've been shooting them.
50 rounds. No classes, every one shoots together. Only restriction (that I was told of) is no optics. I'll grab the course of fire next time I go to the range. |

Tony - thanks. I got a flyer from a local range that is holding matches. The course of fire looks about as exciting as watching ice melt?

Acctually, the excitement level is between watching ice melt and watching grass grow.
If your going to spend the 20 bucks for the match, use, beg or borrow a Glock with the longest sight radius you can. I used my M20. A halfway decent shooter should be able to shoot close to a clean target. (no dropped points) |

I'm going the League match in Raleigh, NC on Aug 14 to take photographs for Harris Publications' 2000 Glock Autopistols annual. I don't know if I'll bother competing as you have to shoot at least 2 out of the 3 matches in a series to qualify for anything and the dates of the Raleigh matches conflict with one of my favorite monthly IPSC matches. It's bad enough that business will keep me from it on the 14th! P.S. - if I do shoot it, it's going to be with my G24C, my regular IPSC gun.
