Question about rail mounted handgun lights

In my mind there is some confusion about rail mounted accessories. For example my Glock light eventually cracked when being used on my Sig P220. It never had any problem mounting on any Glock though.

If I wanted to get something that would fit and work on the sig what would I look for? I don't need a laser as it has a CR but would like a light for less than $100. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did it cracked when you installed it or after use?

based on your budget a Streamlight TLR1 would be good. A few dollars over your 100 limit though.
