Stripper clip guide
In order to shoot the NRA National Match course with a bolt gun, the receiver must have some way to allow a 5-shot stripper clip to be inserted for the rapid fire stages. I have Win M70 target rifles with the guides factory milled.
I wish to adapt a Rem M700 in .223 to shoot the course. Who offers a after market clip guide that can be mounted using the factory rear scope mount holes? Alternatively, are there any gunsmiths out there that are familiar with the modification of the rear receiver bridge to accommodate stripper clips? It appears as though the Remington M700 receiver bridge in .223 extends out over the magazine making manual (single round) feeding the only option when considering an after market add-on guide - making a milling cut the only way out? I appreciate your thoughts/experiences. |

This thread shows how the milling looks when it's done. The thread mentions bolt-on clip guides, so this may interest you.

I followed Unclenick's advice above. Results....
A member (Kendog4570) on calguns.net sounds good, but I can't contact him through his postings on that forum (I'm not a member). Does anyone know who Kendog4570 is? How about you, Unclenick? |
