250g swc 45acp revolver load with Tightgroup

I have lots of Tightgroup and 250 grain 45 swc and would like to know if anyone has a load recommendation for my new Colt 1917? All of my manuals do not list the two in the same load and so I was going to try 4.3g with the 250g's which is the low end for a 230g rn. Is there any reason this would be unsafe? I always follow the manuals so I am not comfortable just making up a unpublished load. Thanks for any help, Tim

Hodgdon list 5.0 to 6.2 grains for 250 grain LRNFP. Your bullet will likely seat a little deeper, so the 4.5 grain starting point sounds like a good idea to me.
