6.5 Grendel Optics
Hello All,
I have a 6.5G from Alexander Arms and I'm looking for new Glass for it. I'm thinking FFP and am stuck between the following optics. IF you have other suggestions... please let me know. This will be used for hunting (sub 100yds) and Long range shooting (as far as I can, right now my range is out to 800yds). What do you guys recommend? Currently I have a .308 that has a SFP 4-12 hunting scope and I can shoot out to 800yds ok with. It has a basic Duplex reticle so hold overs are kind of a pain. The new optic doesn't have to have illumination... but it is always a bonus for Late night hog hunting. Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 - FFP $799 http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-v...iflescope.html Vortex Viper HS LR 2.5-10x32 - FFP $499 http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-v...a-reticle.html Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 - FFP $899 http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-v...fle-scope.html SWFA SS 3-15x42 - FFP $699 http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-3-15x42-Tact...pe-P87716.aspx

Seriously? No comments or suggestions???? I'm adding one more optic to the list. It's the Sig Sauer Tango 4 - 3-12 FFP. I cannot find any reviews on these optics but they seem feature packed. http://www.sigoptics.com/model/tango4-3-12x42-mm/

10 power really not enough for 800-1000 yards and anything above 4 power on the low end is not good for hunting at close range. Too hard to find the game in your scope or you'll only see hair. Hard to compromise. Best for long range could be 6.5x20 or higher magnification but not good for hunting. A 3x9 would make a good hunting scope for closer ranges. Not familiar with Vortex optics. I have a 4.5x14x50 Leupold Long Range and it's a decent compromise. I recommend the M1 tactical turrets and the TMR tactical reticle. With the M1 turrets you can quickly dial in for distance. A little higher than your listings.
