Hey Guys I need some help deciding on a OWB holster for my SA Champion.
I like the Alessi Belt Slide, the CQC, and the ACP at Burns Custom.
I am pretty slim guy(28 inch waist)
What do you guys think the best holster for me is? I want to use it for Winter concealment and range carry.
I prefer leather and I am open to suggestion other than listed above
Thanks
Matt

Concealment OWB dictates that you should lean towards a high ride, as they are far easier to cover up under a shirt or jacket. My personal preference is Kydex. The combined features of formed fitted retention, fast clean break on the draw and thin low bulk material all come together, in my mind, as making a more functional system of carry. A quality belt is not an option regardless of which holster brand you chose as the best holster can not make up for the flaws of a flimsy belt.

For a specific recommendation I would encourage you to at least investigate the G-CODE line that my company is currently offering. They were designed with what you have in mind.

Others that deserve a look would be Ky-Tac, Blade-Tech and Mad Dog. They all make quality rigs that can meet your needs.

Alessi ACP

Well I bought an Alessi ACP from a 1911forum member. He sold it because of something to do with belt loop spacing.
I recieved it today. Great holster. I am wearing it out tonight. WOOO!

Scott Kydex and 1911's dont mix for me. I just I am just old school.

Check out www.waldonholsters.com. Mark makes some very nice stuff at affordable prices - Some say comparable, if not better than the likes of Rosen and Sparks. OWBs of his I can personally recommend include the Raptor and the ACR-2, and I'll lean a little more towards the ACR-2. Very high-riding holsters that tuck in nice and tight.

My personal favorite Waldon holster is his Sidewinder IWB which is designed along the lines of the Mitch Rosen ARG. It is the only IWB that I've tried that I find comfortable for extended periods of time.

Leather …

What do you guys see in that stuff??

Seriously now I have heard nothing but good things about Lou’s work and I doubt you could go wrong with a Alessi rig.

Let us know when you decide.
