Black powder lube with tumble lube bullets

Getting a second model Iver Johnson safety automatic revolver in .38 S&W but it’s a black powder frame made from 1897-1909 somewhere in there but the only mold I have that drops big enough bullets is a lee 158gr lswc tumble lube mold drops.361-.362 bullets unsized but I know LLA is a no no with Black powder could I just dip in liquid crisco/beeswax the gun only has a 3in Barrel and the .38 S&W isn’t a screaming round or anything ?

Only one way to find out. It’s not going to be much of an issue to clean the barrel if it doesn’t work.

Go for it.
Even those small TL grooves might hold enough to last for 3"

Thread moved to Black Powder since that seems to be a more appropriate place for it.
