1911R1
I'm looking at buying a 1911 and as much as I want to, I can't seem to justify the $900+ for a Colt. I want an original style 1911, so my next stop of Remington. My buddy has got one of these, and I've shot it and liked the way it shot. My question is about the durability. His gun hasn't seen a lot of use compared to a lot of others, so I'm asking if anyone has managed to wear one out already?

Does it have to be a new one?
There's plenty of good, name brand used ones out and about, for less than half the price of new. It's amazing how many guns are bought, hardly used and then traded off.

I picked up a used Colt 1991 A1 Stainless Series 80 45 auto, for $600.00 out the door.
And a Springfield Armory Champion Loaded Stainless 45 auto, for $650.00. A lot better deal than what you can get new, for the same price. |

Mine was great. Bought it last month, sold it today. Nothing wrong with the gun. The ammo was too pricey for me and I didn't like the recoil it had.
