What bullets are you loading: 357 Sig
Got my dies finally. Just need some decent shooting weather. Thought I'd ask what you all are loading. I have the following 0.355 on hand:
Barnes 125 TAC-XP that I've loaded over Power Pistol per their chart Speer 125 TMJ over AA#9 per the latest Speer Manual Both of these are specifically designated by the maker for 357 Sig. I also have Hornady 124 XTP that I've loaded in 9x19, but they have the profile for the Sig, plus Sierra 125 JHP "Sportsmaster", also with the right profile. I want to see how my Speer TMJ do before I load those. I would really like to try some Speer 125 GDHP (4360), but can't find any. I'd welcome your thoughts and experience. |

I load Montana Gold 125s.
You don't necessarily need bullets "designated" for 357sig, you just need a fairly long flat side, "bearing surface". Hornady has a number of variations that work well.

I just started loading for my 357 SIG. I bought a keg of 600 of the 125 gr Speer TMJ you mentioned. I have not had a chance to shoot any yet.

All I can find locally with the correct bullet profile is hornady xtp's. I use 90, 115, 124 gr bullets. The 90 gr bullets scream. 1700 fps.

rem 115 and 124 JHP's.
For "Screamers" 88 grn Sierra's or is it 90 grn? Anyway with AA9 you can drive those stinkers to easily 1600 and I have pushed them faster than that in my 229 Sport. (1700+).
