Which M-16 assault rifle is better, the colt or the bushmaster???

What is the differences between the colt and the bushmaster? With so many M-16 variations on the market, which one is the best?

Try http://www.ar15.com for lots of opinions on the topic. I prefer Bushmaster to Colt because BM is more "stock" internally. I am sure others have pet preferences of their own.

I assume you are refering to transferable M16's. Then the factory Colt M16 is the better choice. If you are refering to AR15's, then Colt and Bushmaster are both excellent rifles. Its like which is better, Ford or Chevy?.

Colt has a strong following and better name recognition and will command a higher resale value.

Bushmaster internal parts are more mil-spec (diameter size of the pins for the hammer, disconnector, trigger as well as the holes for the same, diameter of the pivot pin in the receiver).

I like both but if I had to choose one over the other for the money, I'd go with Bushmaster. If money wasn't a problem, I'd go with Colt.

It has been my experience in the last 12-18 months to encounter poor quality Colts. The fit and finish has not been commensurate with the price.
If you compare a Colt AR-15 with a Bushmaster AR-15, I think you will prefer the Bushmaster. Also, Bushmaster AR's can be ordered in any of their many configurations without complaint. Try that with Colt without going through Colt's Custom Shop (with the custom price tag). JMO

Soory, maybe stupid question, but whats the difference between AR15/16 am M16?

The M16, M16A1 and M16A2 are military assault rifles with full automatic or burst fire capability.

The civilian version is the AR15 which lacks the full auto or burst feature. Post 1994 production were further sanitized by removal of the flash suppressor and bayonet mount.

No flame intended here and I'm hoping that you were joking about ASA. I haven't run across a more worthless subgrade supplier in my life.

My experience with ASA was sorry and many other people that I have gotten to know have had very similar experiences. Check out the ASA board at www.ar15.com . It's an eye opener and should make all firearms owners, especially AR owners take heed and never purchase from them.

The difference question has already been answered and although I own both Colts and Busmaster's, I would go for the Bushmaster.
I've never had problems with my Colt, but I like the BM better.
