Try a barrel tumbler. I have several and the oldest is I think going on 18 years now. They're hard to wear out, and they just keep rolling forever. Thumler's Tumblers Model B from Sinclair is an excellent value. Just be sure you get a high speed model. Rock tumbling is fine for week-long tumbles, but not brass!

I can recommend the lyman 2500 turbo and the model B thumlers tumbler that have served me well. I would not purchase a smaller lighter duty tumbler that isn't up to cleaning large amounts of fired brass, spend a little more money for the larger capacity tumbler. My .02

Check the connections on the ones that don't work. I have the Cabelas (Berrys) that quit on me. I bought a Lyman 1200. One day I took the bottom off the Cabelas and a wire had broken loose. Crimped a new connection back on and it has worked fine since.

I'm still using my 8 year old Frankford Arsenal. If/when it gives up I'll look real hard at a Dillon.

I've been running an RCBS vibratory tumbler hard for 3 years now and it's still going strong. Can't speak for any others, this is all I've owned.

I have the the RCBS vibrating tumbler for smaller loads. When doing a large quantity, its the old cement mixer for me......Yes. Cement mixer. If you use a tumbler that much the mixer will save you a lot of wear and tear. Try Harbor Freight. They are cheaper than you would imagine.

Realize your failures are unusual and do not represent normal vibrating tumbler performance. With Cabela's customer service, did you ask them to correct the situation? Lyman has a 1 year warranty, so you might give them a call and see if they will replace it. |

I assume we are talking about a small electric cement mixer that does one sack of redi mix at a time. Do you just dump the media and brass into the drum and let it rip?

meatcutter how many hours did you run the tumblers? They should last a lot longer than a year. You are not blocking the air flow to the motors and overheating them.My tumbler an Olsen I don't know if they make them any more its over 30 years old and its got a lot of hours on it.I always have set it on a concrete floor
