yup... ya gotta call dem boolits......thay ain't no bullets!

If you think reloading is addictive, ummmm casting is like way more addictive. There is something about being able to produce a box of 50 45 ACP for $2.00... that shoot just as good if not better than factory!

9mmm, 50 cost me about $1.75
45 colt, 2 bucks
38/357, 2 bucks....
243.....cheap
buckshot..... $5.50 for 50 12 pellet buckshot loads pushed to 12oo fps

Yep. But you have to do a little bush beating to get them to come out on this board.

Same ole nubie questions what do you use?
Safety glasses, welder's gloves, protective clothing,Bayou Classic burner, 5qt. Dutch oven, stainless spoons (one slotted), bunch of muffin tins (medium, NOT large muffin sized), long ax handle for stirring, RCBS thermometer, 2ea. 20lb. propane tanks, Rowell brand #1 and #3 ladles, a source for getting/buying wheel weights, Marvelux as flux agent (I'm switching to beeswax and sawdust. Marvelux corrodes my stuff), Lee 20lb 110v casting pot, Lee 6-cavity molds/handles....there's more I'm sure. Just can't think at this hour.

How do you use it?
Long story. PM me if you're interested in some sites to explain in detail.

Quote:
Where do you get it?
MidwayUSA, Midsouthshooterssupply, local shops, buy/sell forum here and other boards, Advance Car Mover, etc.

Ask questions like you're doing now. Get several opinions. Take your time. Read up on the process. If you get overwhelmed, back up a couple of steps and make sure you're understanding the process. Most importantly, execute SAFE practices. Get a casting manual. Lee and Lyman manuals are fine.

Dimebag,How to? Be snoopy while at your local range. Watch what people are shooting, ammo wise I mean. Find someone who's shooting lead boolits. If he casts,, and he's talkative, ask if you can come look over his shoulder while he casts some. He may even offer to let you cast a few.

Yeah, I know, in a perfect world, that would work. Unfortunately you're probably going to have to learn on your own. If you lived even close to me, I'd have you over for a how to, what to do and what not to do session. I've done it for a couple of fellow shooters already.

I'll go find the casting 101 thread, bring it TTT (To The Top). Read through that, then ask more ?'s.

They're going to get their butts kicked over there this election. How come people can't spell and use words correctly?
