Strange problem with Pro Mag for P238 . . .
So I bought a Pro Mag for my Sig P238 cause it was half the price of a Sig mag and thought Pro Mag had a good reputation.
Try it out and if I put four or more bullets in the mag . . . the first one won't chamber. Three or less and it chambers just fine. Tried the bullets in my sig mag etc and it's definitely the mag not the ammo. Called Pro Mag today and they have sent a shipping label to send the Mag to them free of charge to me. We'll see how it goes. Live well, be safe Prof Young |

Promag quality is hit or miss. Sometimes as much miss as hit.
If this is a carry gun, i wouldnt even have one. Factory mags, or mec gar. Mec gar makes mags for several manufacturers. |

Thanks . . .
Gunfixr
Thanks for the info. This is a carry gun, but I bought the extra mag for range time only. When I carry it is with the Sig mag. Live well, be safe Prof Young |

Maybe this will help, possibly a better price for factory mag.

Replacement Mag is worse . . .
So pro mag sent me a replacement. It too does not allow the first round to be chambered and it has to be forced in and out of the mag slot. Not good. Called them and they will replace it yet again. All shipping so far has been on their nickel. I go the impression from the lady who answered the phone that she was going to make sure I got one that worked this next time. Something about taking it to a production technician. I also got the impression that they were working out some bugs that resulted from a change in the manufacturing process. Ah well . . . in the mean time I popped for another sig mag (twice the price) and it works very well.

Still waiting on pro mag . . .
The Metalform mags came some time ago and they both work very well. I am on the third round with pro mag and have waited about three weeks now for the latest replacement. Maybe they are trying to wear me down so I'll just give up. Altho the pro mags that came with my AR15 work just fine, I am sure I will never ever buy another pro mag.
