Sears Mod 21 not firing
HI all. My dad's Ted Willam's Mod 21 (High Standard) seems like it is not setting the firing pin or maybe the sear is not releasing. I am not sure how this occurred. It functioned fine last time out like it always has. Only thing I have done is put a plastic down in the magazine for dove season. I noticed it as I just did that yesterday. I can't imagine that should impede it. I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning when I inherited it, but it did fine after that. I no I didn't take the trigger group apart. Ideas? Thanks.

Something about the dowel it didn't like. I replaced it with two empty hulls end to end to actually compress the spring and that worked. Weird.

OK, you caught me.......why/how would a magazine plug effect the function of the trigger and bolt group? Only thing I can think of is the barrel was not fully or correctly seated with the receiver and mag tube.
