Tumbler Question

Do any of you, ever find the need to clean the Tumbler bowl? And if so,
what is best to use? It appears that crud does settle on the bottom, and may shorten the life of the media.

Simple Green and a paper towel do it for me...

Excuse my ignorance, "Simple Green" is a product or liquid dish soap?
Do you make it a periodic thing to clean the pan? I have not, and as I posted it looks cruddy. Will clean it up!

Dawn dish soap works equally well also !

Dawn and some elbow grease with a nylon pad.
Simple Green is good stuff, too. You can concoct a mixture that's right for the application...

When my tumbler bowl gets cruddy it is with particles that have stuck to the plastic bowl by static electricity.

Easiest way to clean it all IMX is with a shop vac. When I try to clean up with a rag or such, the static-y stuff just jumps out of the way of the rag and sticks somewhere else in the bowl. Frustrating.

But the particles can't jump away from the shop vac! Whoosh, everything is gone, bowl cleans up quick (likewise the workbench) ready for the next batch.

The anti-static dryer sheets aren't used in my house; I have no easy source of them so haven't tried those.

What I do after the media gets cruddy is I dump the media in a bucket to to be used for rifle rest bags.

The bowl I clean out with liquid dish detergent ("...takes grease out of your way") and HOT water. The bowl cleans up real nice, ready to take new media.

Thanks for the tips. In your opinion, does the old "cruddy" media present any health concerns being used in a "rifle rest bag"? I only bring that up, as you hear so much about lead and powder residue, fume's etc. these days.
Our club only allows LEAD bullets indoors, and the fan sysem is only so-so,

opening a window on the opposite end does help move the air.

No because the bags I use are more or less sealed so they don't leak.
You can drop them on the shooting bench and they don't send out of cloud of dust, they just go 'clunk'.

But if you are worried about that you could wash the media before you put it in the bag, but I never have.
