11-87 vs. 11-87 Police?

Who knows the difference between a Remington 11-87 and an 11-87 Police? Thanks in advance!

No one knows? I'm guessing that the 11-87P is a heavier duty shotgun, but I don't know how it's heavier duty...anyone able to help?

the 11-87 and 11-87p are comparible, much like the 870 and 870p, not a monsterous difference, just a little beefier parts, internally, as well as i believe the P comes stock parkerized, were the regular doesnt, but in the case of the 870, i got the HD and i talked to guys who carry that same model in alaska, and they have never had a problem with the finish. Well, just judging by the catalog, the police comes in shorter barrel lengths (and probably has a different choke), is optionally available with pistol grip stock and ghost ring sights, and full length magazine tube.

Yes, but you can get a regular 870 with all of those features...so what gives, I wonder?

Also from what I recall the P has a parkerized finish (more durable) and a metal trigger guard (vs plastic). It has an 18" barrel.
