A gun safe

I am looking to purchase a gun safe, mainly for handguns and personal stuff etc. Fireproof is a + but not a deal maker. I am looking for dollar for dollar value and some sort of quality. I have seen a few on sale lately that are made by sentry that look well made but, seem to be too cheap. Any suggestions.

Tredlok is a good middle of the road safe with fire protection. Remember that a house fire will be 1800 + degrees and not many safes will protect against anything near that.

If you're going to store handguns, I would look at a commercial type of safe, and not a gun safe.

You definately do not want to store pistols in a Sentry fire safe. They are not secure, and they can cause all sorts of moisture issues.

I would look at a thin steel plate unit like a B rate (1/2" plate door, 1/4" plate body), or a composite fire/burglary safe that will not have the same moisture issues as a document safe.
