I take 50 rounds for each gun I take, so usually 200-300 rounds.

Make sure you clean that gun before you shoot it and then shoot as much as you can afford. I don't trust any gun until I have had not less than 500 flawless rounds go down the pipe.

A typical range trip for me is in the neighborhood of 100 rounds each for three pistols. None of mine is a .460, though. Have fun!

Clean and lube before first range trip. Usually shoot until it is too hot to hold.

For say a 9mm semi, 200-300. I usually consider 500rds broken in so generally two range trips with it.

Yep, 50-100 rounds. I tend to poop out early, any more.

a couple hundred rds, I always shoot targets at 7 - 8 yards to see how it shoots on paper, then fire a few mags rapid fire to test function, also test all your mags

also test several types of ammo, aluminum case, brass case, steel case, JHP defense loads, etc

it will take a couple trips to the range to test different types of ammo, maybe 150 rds a trip

Between 100-200 rounds depending on amount of time I have to spend at the range.

Well first I hope you f/s and cleaned all the shipping oil off of it and re-lubed it up with some good gun oil & grease on the rails. Then I would put 100-200 rounds in it. Or more if your up to it. Try different types of ammo in FMJ & some H/P's if you can. Have fun and remember that not all guns like all types of ammo. Most good newer guns will shoot most anything.

I'll bring 2-300 rounds of whatever is cheap in the caliber that I bought, 20-40 of what I plan to carry in it, and anything odd I may have laying around in that caliber to see if it will still function.

Pistol calibers (I have nothing more than .44 Rem Mag.): 50-150 rounds typically.

Center fire rifle: 10-40 rounds typically for bolt action, 50-150 for semi-automatic.

Shotgun: about a box if I remember correctly.

Round count doesn't matter as much as focus. When fatigue starts to set in, your focus on the basics goes with it.

At least a box, usually no more than four. Depends on how much fun it is.
Went to the range once intending to shoot only one mag thru one gun,
wound up shooting two boxes.

50-100 rounds is probably a good average number, but it's been as low as 5 when I was short on time, and as high as 500 or more for .22's.

I take 400 rounds with me to the range. If I am having a bad day and not focusing, I will shoot 50 then leave. I hate wasting amo. If I am in the groove and having fun, I will shoot all 400 rounds.

I check to see if it is getting hot if so I start shoot one of my other guns! I do NOT like getting one to hot so I will take a hand full so I can have some good time. A bout 1000 rounds in fall and spring & 500 in the summer. I do reload for all my guns.

As many as possible. Don't worry about counting.

if your gun can go through 500 rds with zero malfunctions, I would consider that to be a reliable firearm, and also make sure the sights are the proper adjustment on paper targets

Since the 'range' is 25 yds from our deck, I take a box of whatever it is that I've just bought. Most days, here on the farm, I'll shoot a cpl magazines or cylinders through whatever is on my belt. It's a joy to have a setup like this for a die-hard shooter like myself, (as well as a wife who knows just how much I enjoy my daily powder burning).

But, a new gun, with all the excitement and anticipation, usually engenders a full box to get used to the trigger, and test reliability. While I'm a dedicated cast bullet shooter, I 'break in' a new (or new to me) gun with 100+ jacketed bullets...handloads, almost exclusively, to smooth the leade, & forcing cone et. al.
