Loading stand

I'm new to C&B revolvers, so forgive me if this question has been asked hundreds of time before. Where does one find the wooden loading stands I see in a lot of articles. Do most people make their own? Are there plans availble for making one? Does someone have one that would work for an 1858 Pietta, that they want to part with?

I have to get up early to beat mykeal. I was about to give trailgator the link to a thread that we covered the subject with a link to a site where he could purchase one. And as I waited for my dial-up to load up the reply page, there was a response. I am just getting slower in my old age.

This is what I made for mine. I use a plastic fishing tackle box for the balls,
powder, cream-of-wheat ect.

Very nice loading stand. Can I ask you how or where you aquired those plastic tubes on the top left corner of the stand. They look like centrifuge tubes. I have tried to find them online, but usually they only sell in bulk of 500 or more for a small size like that.

They certainly are centrifuge tubes

McMaster-Carr has them cheap

On the subject of loading stands....the muzzle is vaguely pointed at my head. I'm not telling you fellas what to do and yes I know full well you cap it later.

But I remove my cylinder and load it while it's out of the revolver. I just can't quite seem to get over almost looking down the barrel of my revolver as I load it. For me, having the end with the hole in it pointed away from my head is just too ingrained to use a loading stand no matter how safe

I don't know what they are called. A guy at Friendship was selling them on
the pistol line a couple years ago for a dollar for 25 I think. I picked up about
a hunderd. Here you can see them better on this stand I made. They will
hold about 30 grs Goex FFF Black Powder. I pre-charge them and use them
in the timed fire matches. Thats 5 shots in 5 min.

kwhi43, it was the thread you posted on that I was going to refer him to. But I saw you displayed your stand. So I left it. But I bet my wife that your mega stand would be there shortly. And you didn't disappoint me.

Try and buy that puppy on-line. I am still working on putting one together for myself. But I am afraid as I take all the good ideas from each of your examples, I am going to end up with a Frankenstein.

Simple answer Chris, "Close your eyes." I do some of best reloading with my eyes closed.

Of course you could point your revolver down, but then, God forbid something discharging, you would be one ball short of a full load.
