Golden Saber's .40 cal $12.99???
I was at a Farm and Feed store about a month ago and came across boxes of Golden Saber in .40 cal both 165gr and 180gr. They were selling them for $12.99 per box of 25.
I did some research and found some good results and energy numbers. So I bought the 4 boxes of 165gr they had left. I figured they were clearanced or something. Today I went to the same Farm and Feed store and yet again they restocked their shelf with more of the same ammunition for the same price. So I bought two more boxes. I just thought it to be interesting that a little Farm and Feed store would have such an amazing price, given that most online retailers are selling it for $17.99-$29.99. Also this Farm and Feed store only carries about 9 varieties on different ammo. And it is a weird selection; 9mm,.40cal, .22-250, .223, .308, .22lr, .410, 20 gauge, and 12 gauge. And they do not sell any guns. Maybe this shows how much profit is in ammo since seeing what this is going for online. - Preston. **EDIT: box is qty of 25** Last edited by silverbullet6oh; August 9, 2018 at 11:08 AM. |

So that's essentially $32.47 for 50 rounds. I see it for sale in boxes of 50 online for $20.95, though you do have to figure in shipping costs.
Would have been a great deal if that price was for a box of 50 rather than 20. |

It’s my understanding that Remington no longer produces the old Golden Saber line, and has replaced it with the Golden Saber Black Belt (only available in boxes of 20). Hence, a lot of places have discounted the old stuff, if you can find it. Still, as JC57 noted, the best deal with the old Golden Saber ammo was in the 50 cartridge boxes.
I’m currently buying as much as I can in .357 Magnum while it is still available. Last I paid was $25 for a box of fifty, which isn’t much more than standard range ammo (at least where I live). I don’t shoot a lot of .357 Magnum out of my gun, but I like Golden Saber because it has a medium velocity and now I can practice with what I load for self defense. |

Golden Saber's .40 cal $12.99???
I would buy at that price given your sales tax is below 10%
I won’t buy ammo online unless it’s from Midway or Cabela’s and prefer FTF with cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am sure I can find it cheaper else where, but I was looking at the suppliers I know of online.
In regards to the website you referenced they have it for sale on qty of 50 @ $20.95 So that equals out to $10.48 per 25 rounds, plus shipping of $2.40 per 50 round box. So yes, it is a tad bit cheaper online. My post was more in regards to finding a good deal locally. Not so much as who is the cheapest online. - P |

Its probably the non bonded bullets, which is cheaper than the bonded stuff.
