Then don't use .327, use .32 H&R if you don't want to be... Blinded by the Light and see another criminal Runner in the Night.

The port kept me from buying one too.

Got a note from Jason at Lipsey's yesterday. He also is a .327 fan, says he has been after Rossi and Winchester to produce a Model 92 in .327 with no luck so far. He said Rossi is experiencing some unknown "manufacturing issues" right now, so we can't expect anything from them in the near future. But let's keep hounding Winchester, Miroku, Taylor's, Rossi, anyone else even remotely connected to a possible Model 92 and hope someone comes out with a stainless, 24" octagon barreled model. I'd go into debt for one (and I've been debt-free for a couple years now, finally). Or anything else, for that matter. My Marlin 1894 CB with RPP mods has become too rare to take into the woods anymore.

I have the ported gun. Not been a problem when I shoot it as outlaw in an IDPA match. It's not my go to SD gun at home, so I don't worry about the flash at night.

Ported or not, I find this S&W news encouraging.

Here is a clip of an email from Henry. Looks like the 327 is a big seller...

^ I hope it is a big seller and if it is I'm not surprised that it is. I've always felt there was a place in the market for a .32 lever gun that was much less than the Marlin. .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Magnum revolvers have been around a long time, there's bound to be people who really like their .32 revolvers and would like a rifle to go with them.
And the fact that in .327, the Henry has the same power (more if you factory in the added velocity the 20 inch barrel will give) as a .30 Carbine, that's bound to garner some interest.

Davidson's (GoG), lists the Big Boy (brass), but not the carbine or the steel versions.
Until I checked today, they had absolutely nothing. So, perhaps, maybe... they've got something in the pipeline. I'll be revisiting my LGS again, to request a "can you get one" check, yet again...

Just today GB has two Tauri listed in .327, a three inch double action and a shorter snubby. I'm still holding out for a M92.

Looks like I'm joining the 327 Federal Club. Ordered a sp101 in the 4.2 inch barrel new for $490.

I currently own a Ruger LCR in .327 Magnum. Used to own a S&W at one time too. I love its versatility. My wife practiced and qualified shooting .32 long. She is under 5' tall and 90 lbs. No problem for her. When there was an ammo shortage, it was not too difficult finding .32 ammo. So many choices of ammo from the .32 short to the .327 mag. Also holds 6 rounds. Take a look at .327 Mag gel tests and decide for yourself.

Went to go pick up my Ruger today. A few rough edges and pretty dirty from the factory. My gunsmith is gonna polish and clean it for me in and out for a awesome low fee. Should have it along with my ammo I ordered Friday.

The long wait is over! My LGS called me today and said to come in and do the paperwork. The Henry 20" rifle will be in next week.
I'm pretty excited, especially after the long delay in bringing them to market. They've been talking these things up since December 2016 if not sooner. I should get it Monday or Tuesday. |

As far as flash, I was shooting Federal 85 gr 32 HR mag out of a 432 the other day at an indoor range, and at times it had significant flash. I was a bit surprised.

I know its not going to happen but I would love Ruger to make a 10/327, talk about a light handy package. I'm still looking for a LCR 327 and Henry to add to the collection. Some day.....

Smee, you might be on to something there. That configuration sounds very intriguing.

I doubt the 10/22 could handle the .327. What I know could is Ruger's model 44 Carbine, which they've long stopped making.

Picked up 4.2 Sp101 from my gunsmith today. Much smoother and he cleaned up all the factory burrs/rough edges (Ruger needs to step up their QC).

I know your pain. I've spent numerous hrs polishing my 4" 327 SP101 the last few days. Used hand files, emery cloth, Scotch-Brite, Never-Dull. It's slick and soft now but it took some work. It's a nice tight straight build out of Ruger so I'm pretty happy now.
The only remaining issue is the rear sight. The mortise in the frame is a little too wide. I can fit a .015" feeler gauge between the sight and the frame. It results in about one or two clicks of movement. Might center punch some dimples in the under side of the sight to fit it to the frame better. |

My Gp100 from a few months ago was flawless fit and finish. But my single-six and sp101 were rough. Thankfully stainless can be buffed and polished. I get most of my guns online these days because of the cheaper prices, even with the transfer cost, but a new gun should be "new".
