Gunscrubber
Does it work? Is it harmful? Is it harmful to polymer frames?

I use it
I haven't found anything on my guns that it bothers so far. I spray it in the chamber and receiver and then wipe the crud off when it runs out.

There are 2 types of Gunscrubber. The original formula and a new, synthetic-safe formula.
I don't know about ALL frames but original formula is harmless to Glock frames but will quickly soften or melt some plastic grips, spacers, sleeves, etc.. Quite naturally, the synthetic-safe formula reduces or eliminates that.

On Gunscrubber...
I've used both versions on my HK P2000 and Walther P22 without any problems. It's actually my cleaner of choice for the P22 because to remove the slide after each range trip challenges my manual dexterity. I find I can keep the P22 clean enough to work flawlessly without fully disassembling it for cleaning.
On the other hand I've used Gunscrubber on my S&W 637 and it stripped off the "invisible spray" (read: clear coat) put on my the manufacturer. This was a good thing to me but not everybody agrees. That stuff peeled off like a bad sun burn. With a little help from a soft tooth brush I got the rest of it off. Now I can use Gunscrubber without a worry. You've probably already figured out that this stuff also removes all trace of lubrication.

Good stuff for its intended purpose, but remember that it removes ALL oil and protective coatings, so steel parts are subject to rusting if not oiled afterwards.
