A bigger objective does not result in a wider field of view. Scope manufacturers list fov along with the other specs.

Leupold lists

a VX-1 model modified for shotgun slugs, in either 1 to 4 power, or 2-7 power.

The modification is , primarily, setting the parallax for 75 yards, rather than the 150 yard setting for rifle use.

For low light times of day, I would choose the 2-7X version, because the objective lens is 33mm, vs. 20mm for the 1-4X model.

$200 for the 1-4X, $210 for the 2-7X, from the 2012 Cabela's catalog.
