Thompson Center-fire Encore Question?

Hello,

I have been wanting to purchase a handgun that would have a ridiculous amount of recoil. I have shot a 460 mag in an 8 3/8" barrel S&W but it didn't quite do it for me.

I have been looking to the Encore platform and was wondering if it might be the answer?
Does anyone have experience with the 30-06 pistol from T/C, how is the kick?
Also the 460 mag from T/C can it shoot 45lc and 454 like the s&w can?

Thanks!
Jason

I haven't shot a 30-06 out of an Encore but I do shoot a 7mm-08 out of one. Recoil isn't at all unpleasant. With a 30-06, you'll get a lot of unburned powder and flame. If you want kick out of an Encore pistol, get something that shoots a heavy bullet.

See if you can find a Contender .44 Magnum with the old 10" octagonal barrel.

The barrel is very slender, and the entire gun is significantly lighter than any .44 Mag revolver. The recoil is astounding, a lot heavier than you would expect. It REALLY jumps in your hand.
