LCR 357 & LCR 9mm, same barrel?

Ruger has a Single Six Convertible, a 357 with a 9mm cylinder.

Same deal with 22 Mag and 22 LR.

I wouldn't be surprised if the LCR 9mm is nothing more than a LCR 357 with a different cylinder and 9mm written on the barrel.

Does anyone know for sure?

I'd ask the fine folks at Ruger, but I have a feeling the answer would be something like, "That information isn't available to the public."

Barrels are the same, groove diameters are .355 for both. When the barrel is 2 inches long the impact on accuracy is minimal. Using one barrel for both cuts costs.

In that case, if you count them all they use one barrel for six guns.

How many were measured to make that determination? Did they use .355 before the 9mm was introduced?

I can't say all groove diameters will be .355, but Ruger has used barrels with groove diameters under .357" in the convertible Blackhawk. I can't confirm 100% that the barrels are the same for .357 and 9mm, but I strongly believe they are because anywhere from .355 to .357 groove diameters will work for both 9mm and .357/.38 and using the same barrels saves money. A smaller groove diameter is best for lead bullets as the bullet swages down and prevents

More than likely .355's were used before 9mm LCR was made given the convertible Blackhawks came out long before the LCR.
