I just bought some Hodgdon HS-6, never used it before, allways a Winchester 231 and 296
fan, same with primers all Winchester, so I
buy this powder to use in heavy 12 ga. field
loads and also because it seems to be for most pistol calibers, but all manuals I read say to use CCI 500 primers, only read Hodgdon and Speer, 7.5 gr. seems to be max
with HS-6 in 9mm 115 gr. FMJ, would 6.5 be a safe start with Winchester SP primers?

Modern Reloading by Lee has HS6 with a 115 gr. 9mm Jacketed bullet starting load at 6.7 gr. and max load of 7.0 gr.

Lyman 47th lists loads for a 115-gr jacketed HP, but nothing for a FMJ.

On the chance that it will help, they list 5.7 gr of HS6 for a suggested start, and 7.2 gr as a maximum load for the JHP.
