Nikon ProStaff Substitute?

I am a huge fan of the Nikon ProStaff line and really have done well with their 3-9X50mm. I was planning on buying another later on next month and noticed on several websites that the "ProStaff" line has been discontinued. Have there been troubles with this line I am not aware of and does anyone know of a decent substitute in the same price range? Thanks...

They haven't been discontinued, but the line was revamped, which is why the old Prostaffs are showing up on clearance everywhere.
Changes:
-Coin adjustment only turrets have been replaced with zero resettable, finger adjustable turrets
-90% multicoated glass has been replaced with a new 96% fully multicoated glass
-Prostaffs are now made in the Philippines (instead of China,IIRC)

The new Prostaffs are much improved to better compete with similar lines from other makers (Redfield Revolutions, Burris Fullfield E1s, Bushnell Trophy XLTs,etc)

Check out Nikon's website for more info on the new ProStaff scopes.

ProStaff

Poodle, Correct, Nikon's ProStaff has been modeled to add many ease of operation features that you guys asked for. All lens now receive coatings as well to increase clairty, light transmission and color.
I have used them and I am throughly impressed. They are also available with a BDC reticle.
Here's a pic of my father in law airing out a sweet T/C .308 and a
ProStaff 4-12 BDC

Funny I am going to purchase that scope just wondering is the 50mm that much better then the 40mm both in 3x9. I am kind of new to scopes and want to change out the one that came with the rifle a 4x4 Mossberg 30-06. Will I also have to change out the mounting Hardware?
