Pressure Measuring

I have just learned about a device to measure chamber pressure.

Called the "Peak Strain Meter" sold by Fabrique Scientific, Inc. of Batavia IL

This appears to be a claculator-sized "box" wired to a sensor epoxied to the chamber area of your rifle.

Supposedly it is nearly as accurate as the lab equipment used by the big companies.

Question- does anyone here own one? ever use one? ever seen one?

If this gadget works as advertized, it is something I have wanted for many years

I've always wanted an Oehler Model 43, but price has kept me from purchasing.

I have read their entire site, checked out all the links, etc. it looks good so far- I am primarily interested in black powder applications, but also want to work on shotgun slugs where there isn't much steel between my fingers and the explosion <s>

Jim, from my reading I have learned that velocity is a good indicator of pressure. Typically, you can compare the advertized velocities of loads against your chronoed loads, and determine whether you're overpresure. Since you're dealing with blackpowder, this technique may be totally useless.
