Texas guns laws???

I had heard that in Texas, the state legislature passed open carry as in you can wear a pistol in a holster on your hip and it has to be visible.

But, someone was telling me the other day that now it's legal to carry concealed and you don't have to get a concealed handgun license which used to be required to carry a fire arm on your person concealed where nobody can see it.

Just wanted to see if this is true now in Texas. Thanks.
