Need a 54" soft gun case

I've been searching with no luck for a good quality 54" soft gun case for my 50 cal.Sharps express. I know when I had my gun shop we sold them as some of the early model T/C Hawkens required them. I've been using a blanket for the last 20 years and while removing it from the blanket I almost dropped it on the ground. Not good. Any ideas?

check eBay or Amazon.com - Midway etc. I just did a quick check on eBay and there are a number of 54" cases listed.

At Christmas time last year, I ran across some decent ones at Menard's - they had a section of hunting stuff for Christmas and I picked up a half dozen rifle/shotgun cases for very little. I even picked up a dozen zippered padded handgun cases. I just waited until they went on sale.

I suppose you could order a custom made one for a small additional cost. As far as I knowing of a manufacture selling that 54" size in stores. Can't help yaw.

These are extremely well made, padded, etc. See the section for musket cases where there is a listing for a 58" case.

Its made from artificial fleece and lined with artificial fleece or she can do canvas lined with fleece.

Boyt makes great, high quality gun cases. Check out www.boytharness.com They make cases 54" long. I have used them for my own single shot rifles and have been very satisfied. Affordable, but not cheap.

Nice looking case Hawg . . . if my wife saw that, she'd be using it for a runner on the table!

Dixie Gun Works - SA5610. I use the shorter SA3300s and they are great! Can't beat the price either.

I bought a nice case at Walmart for my Sharps Long Range; 34" barrel on it. Fits good, and is well padded plus has a large ammo pouch. Paid $25.00.

Also, Marstar in Canada sells a buckskin fringed case; I have my .54 flintlock in it, with lots of room to spare.

Regards,

I think I'll go for the Boyt. It even has a compartment for shells. I found one online for $75. My Sharps is the long range version with a 36" barrel. It's heavy so I want a heavy duty case for it.

My Sharps is the long range model as well; the one I bought from Walmart is heavy duty, ammunition compartment, well padded, and was around$25-$27.00
and the Sharps fits well without being a sloppy fit. Camo pattern, but oh well.
