Remington 541 custom sporter
Does anyone have this 22 cal rifle and find the bolt kind of hard to lift up after firing ? I know lifting the bolt cocks the firing pin, but why is it hard to lift. Can anything be done to make it easier ? I have put grease on the slide piece but it didn't help much. Maybe I need to take the bolt apart and give it a good cleaning ?

Have you talked to a gunsmith?

No I haven't. I know the bolt has not been disassembled since the gun was new and I am thinking carbon and dirt build up could be the problem.

My 581 opens hard, same action except for 1 action screw. Its because of all the rear locking lugs.
Very accurate guns. |
